Janet Kravitz
was a founding member of Kravitz, Brown and Dortch, and continues to advise the firm in her role as of counsel.  Janet has a wealth of experience in complex criminal litigation and has represented clients in state and federal courts across the country.  Janet’s legal skills earned her the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell AV Rating.

Janet devotes countless hours volunteering as a guardian ad litem for CASA of Franklin County.  In her spare time, Janet enjoys cycling, golfing, traveling, reading and cooking.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lead counsel for the Kravitz Brown & Dortch team that obtained the only verdict of acquittal out of eleven individuals charged in United States v. Poulsen, et al., U.S. Dist. Ct., S.D. Ohio Case No. 2:06 CR 129 (National Century Financial Enterprises federal criminal litigation), the largest federal fraud case prior to Bernie Madoff.
  • Has successfully averted the filing of formal criminal charges against numerous clients.
  • Worked on the Kravitz Brown & Dortch team that obtained a dismissal of professional disciplinary charges against an Ohio County Prosecutor.
  • Has obtained dismissal of indictments in drug conspiracy, food stamp fraud, and workers’ compensation fraud cases.
  • Janet has achieved very favorable plea agreements in countless federal criminal cases.

Janet is a Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, an Honorary Fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.  Janet has a passion for volunteering, demonstrated by her role as a guardian ad litem for CASA of Franklin County and numerous other volunteering activities.
