Janet Kravitz earns acquittal on all counts for Mr. James Happ

After deliberating for approximately 12 hours, a federal jury acquitted Kravitz Brown & Dortch's client, Mr. James Happ, on all counts. Mr. Happ was the Vice President of Servicer Operations for National Century Finance Enterprises, Inc. The charges against him included conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, and three separate counts of wire fraud. Janet Kravitz led the Kravitz Brown & Dortch trial team on his behalf.

Eleven former NCFE executives were federally indicted following NCFE’s collapse into bankruptcy. Six were found guilty at trial, and four pled guilty to charges. Mr. Happ was the only former NCFE executive to have been exonerated of all wrong-doing. Trial began December 1, 2008 and lasted approximately two weeks.
